We want to inspire guests to think differently about how the power of technology can be harnessed to capture the biggest opportunity in personal finance for a generation.

How to tackle everyday bias to avoid 'diversity debt'

Are you a fast growing FinTech company? Aware of the need to foster a diverse and inclusive culture in order to drive innovation and serve your customer base? Unsure of how to keep this on track as you scale?  Then this workshop is for you.

Your company culture has never been more important - it is increasingly your brand, increasingly transparent, and increasingly regulated.

Making up your culture are behaviours ranging from the good, to the bad and the ugly. There are usually numerous ways in which the good is collected, and many companies have HR policies in place to handle the ugly. But the everyday instances of inappropriate behaviours and unconscious bias are often overlooked- yet these are key to an establishing the culture you want.

We’ll use case studies to explore why this is more important now than ever, and look at how FinTech companies can leverage practical Employee Voice tools to identify & tackle ‘cultural bugs’ that may be damaging their diversity efforts.

Participants can expect to:

  • Discover practical tools to help keep their culture on track - we’ll deep dive on Employee Voice and Unconscious Bias

  • Explore what processes and tools to introduce and when

  • Look at case studies of leading examples and traps to avoid

Who are we?

Rosie & Raj are the co-founders of InChorus, a third party platform to anonymously tag, measure, and address instances of everyday bias. For employees logging an incident we provide resources to support their mental health, wellbeing, & develop resilience. For HR teams and Heads of People, we provide aggregated data showing trends and where problems may be emerging - empowering them to take action sooner.

We believe that prevention is better than cure and are working with progressive companies to build cultures where employees thrive.

As a team, we bring empathy for the pain points of growing companies- we’ve started, scaled, and supported organisations (Raj’s background spans 1 IPO, 1 large exit (£100m+), 1 cash-cow and both Raj & Rosie have worked in corporate innovation with startups). We’ve also consulted in the Diversity & Inclusion space around technologies that can help resource-tight companies build more Diverse & Inclusive organisations.

Go West, Young Startup - The launchpad for US success

A TECHTalents Society Breakfast Briefing powered by JobsOhio

Invitation Only

There comes a time in a lifecycle of a growth company when they start to look beyond their domestic markets in order to scale and grow internationally. For a company in the UK that can mean further into Europe, Asia or the United States.

Expansion to the US can present unique challenges. With little knowledge of the US, it can be tempting to set up shop in the financial centre of New York City or the tech region in Silicon Valley. However, while it is hard to ‘know what you do not know’ there are other regions, which can offer a better ‘softer landing’ into the American market.

If you would like to attend, please register your interest HERE.

SPOTLIGHT ON FINTECH

Innovate Finance invites you to join us at this event, hosted by the Lord Mayor of London as part of UK FinTech Week 2019, to introduce senior school students to the world of financial technology

What is FinTech?

“FinTech” is used to describe the growing trend to use software, technology and the internet to create and deliver financial services. This could be checking your bank balance on an app on your phone, paying for your lunch through contactless with your smartwatch, or crowdfunding a project or new business through an online platform.

The FinTech for Schools campaign is designed to encourage young people to understand the increasing importance of digital skills in the workplace. It explores how young people will increasingly use FinTech across their personal lives and how they can work in the sector as part of their professional lives.

Inspiring students from an early age, by providing them with a wide variety of role models from diverse backgrounds and skill sets, is a vital first step in creating a new model to deliver real change in terms of diversity in the workplace and to encourage all students to grasp the wide opportunities available to them in this field.
